Permit Status

The City will be starting with the Mechanical Permit but will be eventually implementing electric, plumbing, roofing and gas.

The Mechanical Permits cover work related heating, air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration systems in a building or structure.

General Status Codes:

The following codes are used for permit status of permit applications that must go through a plan review process:

Plan Check - PLANCK- The plans for the permit are undergoing review by the plans review team for compliance to state and local codes and ordinances.

Issued - ISSUED- All applicable fees have been paid and the permit has been issued and work can commence.

Certificate of Occupancy - COFO- All work covered by the permit has been completed in compliance with the codes and the building or area covered by the permit can be legally occupied.

Temporary Certificate of Occupancy - TEMP CO- All work covered by the permit has been not been completed in compliance with the codes, but the outstanding issues are minor in nature and do not affect the life safety or the accessibility for the occupants of the building and the building or area covered by the permit can be legally occupied.

Void - VOID- The permit has been voided and no work is to be done.

Expired - EXPIRED - The time frame for issuing the permit or construction of the project has exceeded the time limits allowed by the code and reinstatement of the permit or issuance of a new permit will be required prior to any additional work being done.

The following codes are used for permit status of sub permit applications that do not have to go through a plan review process (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, roofing, etc.):

Issued - All applicable fees have been paid and the permit has been issued and work can commence.

Complete - All work covered by the permit has been completed in compliance with the codes.

Void - The permit has been voided and no work is to be done.

Expired - The time frame for issuing the permit or construction of the project has exceeded the time limits allowed by the code and reinstatement of the permit or issuance of a new permit will be required prior to any additional work being done.

The following codes are used for inspection results status:

Approved - The inspection has been completed and found to meet the code.

Denied - The inspection has been completed and found to be in non-compliance with the code and other work cannot be completed until the work is corrected, re-inspected and approved.

Partial Approval - The inspection has been completed and found to be in non-compliance with the code with regard to certain items, but other portions are in compliance with the code and work can continue as long the areas in non-compliance are corrected and can be re-inspected and approved prior to being covered.
