Introduction

In September of 1993, Leon County and the City of Tallahassee entered into the Permits and Enforcement Tracking System, PETS, Interlocal Agreement.  The purpose of the PETS Project and PETS Interlocal Agreement was to implement a single software product that could manage information regarding both City and County development activity processes.  In cooperation with Accela, Inc., the primary software provider for PETS, the PETS Interlocal is committed to providing online services to the citizens it serves.

Tallahassee-Leon County Permits Online, TLCPO, is just the beginning to the e-government services that the city and county growth management staffs hope to provide their customers in the years to come.  Initially, TLCPO will provide three basic services:
  1. Permit Information
    The permit information function gives the user an opportunity to explore the status of permits within the Permit and Enforcement System (PETS) database.
  2. Inspection Scheduling and Information
    The inspection scheduling function gives the user an opportunity to request an inspection.

    The inspection information function provides the user an opportunity to explore the status of inspections within the Permit and Enforcement System (PETS) database.
  3. Limited Online Permitting for Licensed Contractors
    The permit application function provides contractors the ability to apply for a permit.

You can view instructions online or use Adobe Acrobat to print a copy of the instructions. There's a set of instructions for each of the 3 functions you can perform. Helpful Hints

How to search the database

There are several ways to pull information from the database:

  • by an address

  • by a permit number

  • by a contractor's license number

  • by a parcel identification number (TaxID)

It may be helpful to utilize an interactive map  
in order to obtain the correct address or parcel identification
number.

You must Register

In order to apply for a permit or request an inspection, you must be a registered user with the City and/or County as an active and properly licensed contractor.

Choose a Jurisdiction

Each jurisdiction does not provide for the same type of online permitting and inspections services, therefore, you must first identify the jurisdiction in which you are doing business before proceeding.
